COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Seventh-ranked Colorado College swept Whitworth in the finale of the Pikes Peak Challenge volleyball tournament on Saturday afternoon. 

The Tigers (10-2) defeated the Pirates (6-4) 25-14, 25-20, 25-14. Whitworth hit a season-low 0.029 against Colorado College, thanks mostly to eight team blocks. 

Iris Tikhonov scored nine points to lead Whitworth.  She had six kills, two solo blocks and one service ace.  Abby Wolverton led the Bucs with seven kills.  Joelle Forbes had 20 assists and Eva Millan finished with 11 digs.  Forbes and Emiko Kahler were both named to the All-Tournament team.

Allie Freeburg led Colorado College with 14 kills and a .765 hitting percentage. 

Whitworth will open Northwest Conference play next Friday at 24^th-ranked Pacific Lutheran.
