PORTLAND, Ore. – The Lewis & Clark Pioneers topped the visiting Whitworth Pirates in five sets in Saturday evening's Northwest Conference volleyball match.

Lewis & Clark defeated the Pirates 25-14, 22-25, 20-25, 25-22, 17-15 to close its season with an upset over the top team in the conference. The Pioneers improve to 10-14 overall and 6-10 in NWC play.

Emiko Kahler reached a significant milestone in the match, becoming Whitworth's (20-6, 14-2) all-time leader in kills.

The Whitworth Pirates are the 2019 NWC Volleyball Champions. The NCAA field will be announced Monday morning at 9:30 a.m.
