Box Score LEWISTON, Idaho – Whitworth University fell to Lewis-Clark State 25-13, 25-16, 25-23 in its final non-conference game of the regular season on Wednesday night.
The Pirates fell to 10-6 with their third straight loss. The Warriors improved to 11-9 after avenging a three-set loss to Whitworth earlier this season in Spokane.
LCSC was too powerful at the net for the Pirates on this night, hitting .396 in the match and posting 11.0 team blocks. Those blocks helped hold Whitworth to a team hitting percentage of only .135.
Cassandra Mendoza and Nicole Leonard had eight kills apiece to lead the Pirates. Leonard added a team-high 10 digs. Maddye Dinsmore had 30 assists.
Treneisha Doyle had 13 kills and hit .379 for LCSC. Maya Williamson added eight kills in 11 attacks for a .727 hitting percentage. She was also in on six blocks.
Whitworth will look to end its three-match losing skid when the Pirates host Northwest Conference-leading Willamette University on Friday night.
