But Wiley tied things up 3-3 with her 6-3, 7-6 (6-3) win over Taylor Barns at #3 singles. Rohrbach gave the Pirates a 4-3 lead by defeating Motley 6-2, 6-4.
But George Fox claimed the final two singles matches to snatch the team victory. First Tuemmler rallied to beat Hoyos 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 at #1 singles. Then Diehl held on for her victory over Winslow.
Sunday's loss to the Bruins capped an 0-2 weekend in Oregon for Whitworth. The Pirates fell to nationally-ranked Lewis & Clark 9-0 on Saturday in Portland. Whitworth was unable to win a set against the powerful Pioneers. The closest match came at #1 doubles where Hoyos and Adams lost 8-4 to Claudia Lew and Christine Eliazo.
