SPOKANE, Wash. – Rachel Aldridge has announced her first-ever recruiting class as the Whitworth women's tennis coach and two strong players will be joining the Pirates in 2015-16.
Emma Jo Wiley and Paige Rohrbach have confirmed their admission to Whitworth and anticipate playing tennis for the Pirates beginning in the fall.
"These two will definitely add some top-level talent and depth to our team," Aldridge said. "Both placed at the high school state level and I am confident that they will be able to add some strength to our team. I expect that they can contribute to the team even in their first year."
Wiley graduates this spring from Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is the 5th-ranked senior girl in Colorado and 530th in the nation, according to tennisrecruiting.net. She took third place in the #2 singles draw at the 5A state tournament this year.
Rorhbach graduates from Clarkston (Wash.) High School. She was the number one player for the Bantams as a junior and senior, and was named the Frontier Conference MVP this spring.
Whitworth finished fourth in the Northwest Conference in Aldridge's first season. The Pirates will open the 2015-16 schedule with the Fall ITA Northwest Regional tournament in October.
