Pirate Women Finish 7th at Culturame Classic

CANBY, Ore. – The Whitworth women's golf team took seventh place in the Culturame Classic on Sunday at the Willamette Valley Country Club.

Allie Slingsby (78-80 – 158) led the Pirates finishing in 11th place. Whitworth was in fourth place after shooting a 344 in the first round but dropped three spots after posting a 349 in the second round.

George Fox took first in the tournament with Rachel Drgastin (76-74 – 150) earning medalist honors. The final team scores were: George Fox 610, Pomona-Pitzer 615, Cal Lutheran 657, UC Santa Cruz 675, Whitman 679, Corban 689, Whitworth 693, Willamette 925.

Maggie Peters (87-87 – 174) tied for 28th place. Cheyenne Marchand (87-92 – 179) took 35th. Ali Brandt (92-90 – 182) finished in the 37th position and Abby Douglas (96-96 – 192) took 39th place.

The Pirates will compete in the Northwest Conference Fall Classic this coming weekend in Woodburn, Oregon. The NWC Fall Classic counts as 25% of the final league standings.
