HILLSBORO, Ore. – Northwest Conference women's basketball coaches voted Madison Moffat and Camy Aguinaldo as second team members of the All-Northwest Conference team according to this afternoon's release from the conference office.
Moffat earned a spot on the All-NWC team for the second year in a row after earning honorable mention honors last season. The senior guard contributed all over the floor and was the only player in the conference to finish in the top-15 in rebounds (10th), assists (10th), and steals (11th) per game. Moffat also contributed 8.8 points per game, including a 16-point outburst where she scored more than a quarter of the team's points in a win over Colorado College. Her season-high in rebounding came against Pacific (Ore.) when Moffat pulled down 15 boards.
Aguinaldo, the 2017-18 NWC Freshman of the Year, made the conference's second team for the second year in a row. The sophomore from Honolulu, Hawaii scored a team-high 13.7 points per game while contributing 3.0 assists per game as well. Aguinaldo also stepped up her defense this season and finished fifth in the NWC with 2.0 steals per game, including a 7-steal performance in a must-win game against Puget Sound. Aguinaldo's season-high in scoring came against Lewis & Clark. The sophomore dropped in 27 points against the Pios on 9-19 shooting.
Moffat and Aguinaldo led Whitworth to a 13-12 overall record and an 8-8 mark in NWC play. The Pirates just missed out on making the Northwest Conference tournament for the first time in three seasons when Linfield stormed back from a sixteen-point deficit against Pacific (Ore.) to claim the final spot.
