Casey Monahan Finishes Sixth At NCAA Indoor Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. – Breaking the record that he set yesterday, senior Casey Monahan earned All-America status with a sixth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III indoor championships at the Bob Devaney Center Track on Saturday.

Monahan crossed the finish line in 8.12, improving on his 8.13 his prelim time and setting a new school. His finish also earned three points for Whitworth in the team standings.

Just .003 separated Monahan from fifth place finisher, Adam Scalesse from Coast Guard. Max Kittle from Anderson (Ind.) edged out Scalesse and Monahan by .01 for fourth place. Salisbury's Luke Campbell set a new Division III meet record with a winning time of 7.75.
