Tyler Adamson was the anchor for Whitworth's outstanding offensive line this season. He previously was selected as a first team All-Northwest Conference honoree for the third time. Adamson was a major reason the Pirates lead the league in fewest sacks allowed per game (1.67), total offense (459.6) and in rushing yards per game (181.6). In addition, Adamson was a major force on special teams, setting a Whitworth record with six blocked field goals or extra points this season.
Whitworth has not had a first team All-Region honoree on offense since RB Adam Anderson earned the honor in 2008.
Wilburg was a major reason the Whitworth defense ranked in the top four among NCAA Division III in tackles for loss and sacks this season. Wilburg led the NWC in sacks (13 for 78 yards) and was second in tackles for loss (18 for 88). He finished sixth on the team with 52 total tackles in 2018. The NWC selected Wilburg as its Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Wong led the Pirates in solo tackles (47), total tackles (78) and forced fumbles (3) this season. He also had an interception and broke up five other passes. He made seven tackles for losses totaling 16 yards, including a key fourth-down stop against Chapman.
The trio led the Pirates to a final record of 10-1 and to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. Whitworth won its first Northwest Conference title since 2007 with a 7-0 record.
