Matching Gifts--Many employers offer matching gift programs. Check with your employer to see if your company matches charitable contributions. You can double or even triple the value of your gift, making an even bigger impact on our student-athletes.
Team Specific Gifts—While unrestricted gifts to the Athletics Annual Fund are encouraged in order to provide the greatest flexibility to meet the greatest needs, contributions of any kind (gifts, securities, endowments, estate etc.) can be made to any specific sport or Athletic Department program including athletic training and sports information. Gifts in Kind—Whether it is purchasing a team’s meals, covering the costs of hotel rooms or providing necessary equipment, these contributions provide a significant relief to a team’s budget and provide our supporters with a tax deductible way to make a tangible difference for our program.
Give Securities—Giving a gift of securities offers you a chance to help Whitworth Athletics while realizing important tax benefits for yourself. A stock portfolio is often among the most valuable assets you own, and one that carries substantial capital gains—appreciation of value. With careful planning you can reduce or even avoid federal capital gains taxes. Endowments—With a minimum contribution of $50,000 your gifts can continue to give year after year in support of our student-athletes. With either a one-time gift or a multi-year contribution (minimum multi-year contributions of $10,000 per year for 5 years), you can establish a gift that keeps on giving.
