LEWISTON, Idaho – The Whitworth women's tennis team opened the 2026 spring season with a 7-0 loss to Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday afternoon at LC Tennis Center.
The Warriors (1-1) earned their first win of the season with two wins in doubles and six match victories in singles.
LCSC secured the doubles point with wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches. The Pirates avoided a complete sweep with their first match win of the season as Olivia Corbett and Audrey Judson took down the No. 3 Warrior pair 6-3.
Paige Oliver started fast with a 6-4 set win in the No. 1 position but dropped the next two 6-2. Faith Kert, Jordan Turner-Esposito, and Judson each fell in two sets at the No. 2 through No. 4 positions, respectively. Clara Todd pushed her opponent to a tight first set tiebreaker (7-6 (7-3)) before retiring in the second set. Josie Kellogg battled hard in the No. 6 position in her first match as a Pirate before a narrow 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 loss.
The Whitworth women host Eastern Washington in an exhibition on Friday, February 13th before opening Northwest Conference play at Whitman on Saturday, February 14th.
