Box Score

SPOKANE, Wash – Kate Nelson earned her 22nd career shutout in her final game, but Whitworth was held to a scoreless draw in their season finale against Lewis and Clark on Sunday.

Nelson managed a light workload, tallying two saves and relying on a defense that snuffed out most of Lewis & Clark's opportunities.

Whitworth (9-6-5 overall, 9-5-2 NWC) outshot the Pioneers 13-9, just 3-2 in shots on goal, but couldn't manage to find the game-winner. The Pioneers (5-11-4 overall, 4-8-4 NWC) came into the match losers of four straight but managed to snap that streak.

The Pirates came into the match riding a four-game win streak, and a win today would've propelled them into third place in the standings, a point past Whitman who tied 1-1 with George Fox in their finale.

For Whitworth, they close the season with their highest conference win total (9) since 2018. They will be back in September of 2024 for their season opener.
