PARKLAND, Wash. – Whitworth women's tennis completed a sweep of its trip to Tacoma with a 9-0 win over Pacific Lutheran on Sunday at the Sprinker Rec Center.

The Pirates (4-3, 3-1) won their third consecutive Northwest Conference match while PLU falls to 2-9, 0-3.

Aleah Kert and Hannah Plank won easily at #1 doubles, defeating Taylor Stokes and Ella Burris 8-1.  Jill Hughes and Kara Nelson won by the exact same score at #2 doubles.  Kyndal Locati and Nicole Resanovic pulled out an 8-5 win over Meggie Burnett and Jillian Chong at #3.

None of the six singles matches went more than two sets.  Kert won 6-0, 6-1 at #1, while Gracie Smyley beat Chong 6-2, 6-1 at #2 singles.  Hughes defeated Burris 6-3, 6-0 at #3, while Resanovic won the closest singles match 6-3, 6-4 at #4.  Grace Bethards rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #5 and Nelson won 6-4, 6-2 at #6.

Whitworth will host Lewis-Clark St. in a non-conference doubleheader next Sunday.
