TACOMA, Wash.— The Whitworth Pirates women's soccer team fell 2-1 on the road against the Puget Sound Loggers in a Northwest Conference match on Saturday afternoon.
Whitworth (5-7-4, 5-5-3 NWC) and Puget Sound (13-3-1, 10-1-1 NWC) battled defensively in the first forty-five minutes, with all scoring coming in the second half.
The Loggers found the back of the net first in the 58th minute after Radhika Webster-Schultz connected with Genny Jilka for the goal.
Maggie Ames quickly found the equalizer for the Pirates in the 59th minute.
In the 66th minute, Puget Sound's Emily O'Neil passed to Webster-Schultz who scored the match-winning goal.
The Loggers outshot the Pirates 19-10 in total shots taken and 10-5 in shots on goal.

Kate Nelson was credited with eight saves for the Pirates in 90 minutes played. Puget Sound's Chaylea Tome had four.
Puget Sound swept Whitworth in two matches this season with a combined score of 4-2.
Whitworth will play next on Sunday at 12:00 PM at Pacific Lutheran.
