PORTLAND, Ore. — The visiting Whitworth Pirates fought to a 0-0 draw with the Willamette University Bearcats in a Northwest Conference women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates (3-6-3, 3-4-2 NWC) and Bearcats (4-7-1, 2-6-1 NWC) battled the entirety of the match but neither team could get their offense going.

Kalena Pfaeltzer's 72nd minute shot gave Whitworth an opportunity to clinch a victory, but it did not get past Willamette's goalkeeper Sam Borngasser.

Willamette outshot Whitworth 12-5 in total shots taken. Whitworth outshot Willamette 4-1 in shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Kate Nelson had one save in 90 minutes played for the Pirates. Borngasser had four for the Bearcats.

Whitworth will play next on Sunday at 12:00 PM at Lewis & Clark.
