SPOKANE, Wash.—Visiting Whitworth University played to a scoreless draw at George Fox in a Northwest Conference women's soccer match on Sunday afternoon.
The Bruins outshot the Pirates 8-1 in the first half. Six of George Fox's shots were on goal, and Whitworth goalkeeper Kate Nelson stopped each one. None of the Pirates shots were on goal.
In the second half, each team recorded five shots. Whitworth recorded four shots on goal and George Fox recorded one. Bruin goalkeeper Sara Thudium made four saves. The Pirates had four corner kicks to George Fox's two, but neither team was able to capitalize.
Whitworth had three shots to the Bruins' one in the first overtime period, but only George Fox's shot was on goal.
The Bruins also recorded one shot on goal in the second half to the Pirates' zero.
Nelson ended the game with ten saves, and Thudium notched four.
Whitworth returns to the Whitworth Soccer Field on Saturday, Oct. 9 against Pacific University.
