Box Score

SPOKANE, Wash. – A second half goal gave Whitworth a 1-0 edge over Pacific (Ore.) in a Northwest Conference women's soccer match on Saturday.

The Pirates (4-7, 3-4 NWC), who had zero shots on goal in the first half, finished the game with seven shots on target and 15 total shots. The Boxers (5-5-1, 3-4 NWC) had five total shots and three on goal.

Whitworth had seven offside calls in the first half that took away multiple scoring chances.

McKenzie Hemp scored her first goal of the season in the 50th minute after Leah Corra controlled the ball out of scrum on the end line. She found Hemp who shot far post past Pacific goalkeeper Kailey Hifumi.

After a controversial no call in the box involving a collision with Corra and Hifumi, Pacific's Sydney Virgen was issued a yellow card in the 75th minute.

Sienna Tanner improves to 4-4 after a two save shutout performance. Kailey Hifumi (5-5-1) had six saves and gave up one goal.

Next Up: The Pirates return to the Whitworth Soccer Field tomorrow to face off with Linfield at 12:00 p.m.
