SPOKANE, Wash. – Dakota Kliamovich and Ryan Adams represent Whitworth University on the 2015-16 Northwest Conference First Team Scholar-Athlete list.
The list is comprised of one top male and one top female student-athlete from each of the conference’s nine member institutions as nominated by each school's director of athletics and faculty athletics representative.
Whitworth’s Director of Athletics Tim Demant and its Faculty Athletics Representative Jack Burns elected to select the Pirate male and female student-athletes with the highest combination of grade-point average and seniority.
Kliamovich graduated in May with a 4.00 GPA as a biology and psychology double major. Kliamovich is a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, including twice on the first team as a junior and senior. She earned three Northwest Conference titles in the hammer throw and twice earned NCAA Division III All-America recognition with a top-8 finish at the outdoor track and field championship meet. Her career-best mark of 179’-11” is a Whitworth school record.
Adams has completed his sophomore year as a member of the men’s tennis team. He has a 4.00 GPA as a biology major. His career singles record with the Pirates is 5-2, including a 4-1 mark in 2016.
