Whit Women Play to Second Straight 0-0 Tie

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – For the second straight match the Whitworth women's soccer team could not find the net, but the Pirates also prevented the opponent from scoring, finishing in a 0-0 tie at Pacific University on Friday night.

Whitworth is now 6-6-4 overall and 3-5-4 in the NWC following back to back 0-0 draws.  The Bucs drew with PLU last Sunday.

Andrea Stump made four saves in goal for Whitworth to post her sixth shutout of the season.  Kayla Davidson made five saves for Pacific (7-5-3 overall, 4-5-2 NWC).

The Pirates outshot the Boxers 11-7, including a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.  Tiara Pajimola got of five shots for Whitworth while Amy Sterk had three shots.

The Pirates have hit a scoring drought this season, going the last 352 minutes without a goal.

Whitworth will take on league-leading Linfield on Sunday afternoon at noon.
