Box Score SPOKANE, Wash. – Battling through 110 minutes of soccer with only 14 healthy players, the Whitworth women came away with a 0-0 draw against visiting Pacific Lutheran on Sunday afternoon.
It marks the second time this year that the Pirates (6-6-3 overall, 3-5-3 NWC) and Lutes (6-3-5, 4-1-5) played to a 0-0 tie. The same result occurred on October 5th in Parkland, Washington.
Despite suffering from a lack of available bodies, Whitworth controlled much of the action. The Bucs outshot the Lutes 21-9, including a 7-2 edge in shots on-goal.
Andrea Stump made two saves in the second half for Whitworth. Marisa Gonzales made two saves in the first half for PLU, while Takara Mitsui made five saves in the second half and overtime for the Lutes.
Tiara Pajimola had seven shots overall and put three shots on net for the Pirates. Kaylie led PLU with six shots, one of which was on-goal.
Whitworth will head back to Oregon for matches at Pacific (Friday night) and Linfield (Sunday) next weekend.
