Pirates Hold Puget Sound to a Draw

TACOMA, Wash. - The Whitworth Women's soccer team (6-4-3, 6-2-3) battled University of Puget Sound (9-2-2, 7-1-2) to a double overtime tie on Sunday afternoon, 0-0.

Puget Sound shot over twice as many times as the Pirates in 110 minutes of play with a shot count of 21-10. The Loggers' Chirisine Isabella attempted eight of those with four being on goal. Callie Bergstrom thwarted Isabella's efforts and (Sr., GK, Spokane, Wash.) totalled eight saves overall to keep UPS scoreless.

Puget Sound dropped to the number two spot in the NWC standings while the Whit women hold steady at third.

The Bucs will return to Spokane this coming weekend to welcome George Fox on Saturday afternoon and Pacific (Ore.) on Sunday at noon.
