Whitworth Fieldhouse

The Whitworth Fieldhouse: The home of Whitworth basketball and volleyball, the Fieldhouse is a spacious, multi-purpose facility that also houses the university's Sports Medicine department. The seating capacity for basketball is 1,620 and the Fieldhouse has provided the Pirates a significant home-court advantage over the years with large and noisy crowds. In the winter, baseball, softball and track and field use the facility for practice. In 1980 the Whitworth Fieldhouse was the site of the AIAW Division III Volleyball Championships. The following year the building hosted the AIAW Division III Basketball Tournament. More recently the Whitworth Fieldhouse has played host to a pair of NCAA Division III regional volleyball tournaments (2002, 2005) and numerous NCAA Division III men's basketball playoff games.
