Wes Walton, a Whitworth Swimming alum, is entering his second year of coaching as the graduate assistant for the swimming team in 2017-18. Walton graduated from Whitworth in 2016 with a degree in kinesiology and a minor in psychology. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. As graduate assistant, Walton will direct the strength and conditioning portion of the teams training, as well as assisting on-deck during practices and meets.
Walton swam to individual Northwest Conference records in the 200 I.M. and the 200 Backstroke during his Pirate swimming career. He was also a three-time NWC men's swimmer of the meet. He made an appearance at the NCAA championship all four years, and was a five-time honorable mention all American, and an all American in the 200 I.M. during his senior year.
